Library to Extend Evening Hours

We are pleased to announce that beginning Sunday, Sep. 10, we will extend our hours Sunday through Thursday to close at 2 a.m. (instead of midnight).

This is a pilot project, initiated in response to numerous requests from individual students and from ASLMU’s president, Drew Hartz, to remain open for students seeking safe and reliable late-night study spaces on campus. Access to the building after 10 p.m. will still require an active OneCard. Throughout the pilot period, we will track and evaluate building occupancy from midnight to 2 a.m. as well as our ability to retain staff, including student staff, to cover these additional hours. We will assess the data we collect and provide an update on our future plans at a later date.

We appreciate the campus community’s continuing feedback on this initiative. We are especially thankful to the library staff whose time and labor make it possible to extend our hours.

Please note that there will be some exceptions to this new schedule, including holidays and intersession days. For up-to-date building hours, please visit our Library Hours page.
