Joe Lumer, a successful Los Angeles businessman whose philanthropic generosity touched many of us at LMU, died this week at the age of 62 while on vacation in Argentina. Mr. Lumer had the distinction of being our first special guest author at the library’s Sunday Jewish Book Group, where he shared his work Noah the Water Carrier and Other Stories with our community. He was also instrumental in bringing the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum traveling exhibit Deadly Medicine: Creating the Master Race to LMU in Fall 2010.
The William H. Hannon Library and its staff extend its most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Joe Lumer.
