Unique library resource featured in LMU magazine

Everyone expects that a library’s special collections vault will contain objects of the printed, written sort. But what about sand?

The summer 2010 edition of LMU Magazine has an article featuring a unique work of art located at the William H. Hannon Library. The sand jar from University Archives and Special Collections was a gift honoring Joseph Sullivan, S.J., president of Loyola University from 1926-30.

If this piques your interest, know that it’s only one of *many* other surprises that you might find amongst our library’s collection of rare and valuable treasures!
