The William H. Hannon Library is now accepting applications from current students for the 2025 Library Research Awards. These awards are given to undergraduate and graduate students who demonstrate excellent research strategies and use of the services, resources, and collections of the library to produce a scholarly or creative work.
For 2025, a prize of $1,000 will be awarded to the first place individual project, $1,500 to the best group project, and $450 to two honorable mentions. Awards will be given in both the undergraduate and graduate student categories.
To be eligible for the awards, applicants must:
- Be currently enrolled at Loyola Marymount University as an undergraduate or graduate student in any class level. All disciplines are eligible.
- Complete and submit an original research project for an LMU credit course during spring 2024, summer 2024, or fall 2024. Projects from the 2024 Summer Undergraduate Research Program (SURP) are also eligible. Works from spring 2024 will be considered, but the paper/project must be complete by the submission deadline. Revising and improving a previously submitted and graded research project is allowed and encouraged.
The deadline to submit is midnight on Sunday, April 13, 2025.
