Featured Resource: Classical Scores Library

Occasionally we get questions at the reference desk from musicians looking for sheet music, which we do offer a substantial selection of in our print collection.

However, did you know we also have access to over 25,000 classical scores online, through Alexander Street Press Classical Scores Library?

The collection includes works spanning time periods from the Renaissance to the 21st century. Coverage of score types is comprehensive, with full scores, study scores, piano and vocal scores, and piano reductions.

Users can search for scores on musically relevant fields, such as composer, work/opus number, key, genre, instrument, time period; as well as score-specific fields, such as score type, duration, editor, arranger, publisher.

The Classical Scores Library collection is scheduled to grow to over 400,000 scores, and will eventually contain the complete works of Bach, Beethoven, Berlioz, Brahms, Chopin, Cornelius, Glinka, Gretry, Handel, Lassus, Liszt, Loewe, Mendelssohn, Mozart, Palestrina, Rameau, Schein, Schubert, and more.
