Loyola Marymount University faculty are invited to join colleagues from Saint Mary’s College of California in a joint virtual workshop to learn about open textbooks and how they can contribute to student learning and success, in addition to affordability. Attendees will gain greater understanding of the benefits of open educational resources (OER) for their students and pedagogy. The workshop will also establish a community of practice that connects faculty interested in OER between the two mission-driven institutions.
Faculty who attend the workshop and complete a textbook review of a title in the Open Textbook Library may receive a $250 stipend. Stipends are limited to the first 15 who attend the workshop and complete a review. However, all are invited to attend the workshop, and a recording will be shared afterwards.
Two opportunities to join: February 16, 1:00pm-2:30pm and February 17, 3:00pm-4:30pm
