Accessing the Library in Fall 2021

Welcome back to campus, Lions! We are delighted to be sharing our spaces with you again. At this time, the library is still running at reduced capacity, but our collections, study spaces, and in-person research support services are back in business.

Our building is currently open to anyone with approved campus access. For more information on who has access to the campus, please visit the LMU Together web page. Those with campus access may use the collections, study tables, computers, and printers on a drop-in basis. Reservations are required for study rooms. Masks must be worn at all times while in the building.

Like many of our colleagues across campus, we have not been immune to the impact of staffing shortages and changes in campus protocols. As a result, we have reduced our usual “24/5” schedule for the fall semester. Until further notice, the library’s hours are:

Monday – 8:00 a.m. – midnight
Tuesday – 8:00 a.m. – midnight
Wednesday – 8:00 a.m. – midnight
Thursday – 8:00 a.m. – midnight
Friday – 8:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Saturday – 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Sunday – 11:00 a.m. – midnight

For a full list of our hours, including holidays and exceptions, please visit our Hours page.

We are delighted to “re-activate” services that for the past year and a half we have been unable to provide. Most notably, students and faculty can once again get walk-in research support at our Information Desk on Level 1. Additionally, our Circulation Desk is open, offering our campus community face-to-face support with locating and checking out physical materials, including books, DVDs, media equipment, and course reserves.

We also recognize that some of our students will continue to work remotely, and we will continue to support those needs. For any student who needs access to our collections and services online, we still provide 24/7 virtual support and access to millions of online resources. If you need special assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact us. Students can also consult our Student Services page for more information. Faculty should consult our Faculty Services page.

Good luck with your studies this semester, Lions. Remember that the librarians and staff of the William H. Hannon Library are here to support and enable your academic success.
