Welcome Justin Inbar

Please join us in welcoming Justin Inbar to the William H. Hannon Library! Justin is our new Main Stacks Supervisor. In order to introduce you to our newest staff member, we asked him a few questions about coming to LMU:

What goals/hopes do you have for this year as our new Main Stacks Supervisor?

My main goal this first year is to learn the ins and outs of Hannon Library, especially my department of Collections Management. Also, though I believe I have met all of the library’s staff members at least once, I hope talk more with the library’s students and staff throughout the year!

How has your prior experience prepared you for this role at the William H. Hannon Library?

During my undergrad, I worked in the UCLA Music Library for about two years, both as a student assistant and supervisor. Though the library processes are slightly different at UCLA, I find this experience has prepared me to learn Hannon Library’s systems and help run them from the Collections department. In addition, I have been a guitar teacher for over 6 years. A large part of my role as Main Stacks Supervisor is to train and supervise student workers in the Collections department and my experience as an educator will definitely be helpful in this task.

What project(s) will you be tackling first?

As Main Stacks Supervisor, and one who likes well-ordered learning spaces, I would love to help improve the organization and neatness of the stacks. One way I will accomplish this is through my current shifting project which will keep sections from getting too cramped and make the stacks pleasantly tidy for patrons and staff.

What are you currently reading?

Since starting work here at the library I have seen so many books that have caught my eye and my reading list has grown tremendously! One book I picked up the other day is Body Awareness as Healing Therapy by Moshe Feldenkrais, a non-fiction book about the author’s successful work with Nora, a patient who had lost many fundamental abilities (including the ability to read and write) due to a brain injury.

We are delighted to have Justin on our staff at the William H. Hannon Library. You can contact him at justin.inbar@lmu.edu.
