Meet Ana, Our New Circulation Evening Supervisor

We are delighted to welcome Ana Ortiz, our new Circulation Services Evening Supervisor, to the William H. Hannon Library staff. We asked Ana to share some information about herself and her role here at LMU.

Q: What drew you to the world of libraries?

As a kid I was a voracious reader and spent most of my summers in my local public library. As an adult, I started volunteering at a public library and fell back in love. The librarians at the branch were so encouraging, and really opened my eyes to all of the potential opportunities in the field.

Q: What about this new role are you most excited about?

In addition to the wonderful staff and terrific students I work with, I would have to say my favorite thing about this position so far is the schedule. I am a total night owl, so I am loving 3 p.m. to midnight. I think this position will help set the foundation for my future goals as I pursue my MLIS.

Q: What is the last show you watched or book you read?

The last show I watched was Good Girls Revolt on Amazon.

Q: What is something about you that would surprise us to learn?

I’m not sure if it’s technically surprising, but I also sell vintage clothing online! It’s how I justify (and monetize) my obsession with the history of fashion, estate sales and buying clothes.

Q: What would be your perfect meal?

My perfect meal… that’s a tough question! I’m going to go with my ideal brunch order – a cheesy/veggie quiche with mixed greens, a piece of French bread and an almond milk latte.
